Falsified Election Documents and Puppet Strings

 

Moore (sic) on Falsified Election Documents and Alleged Pollution of Little Bay by the City Wastewater Treatment Plant

 

This is a fresh look at Tommy Moore’s Election Deadline document of June 23. I recently received some unsolicited advice from a friend who read “Oh What A Tangled Web We Weave”. I am surprised I did not realize this before now. Tommy Moore FALSIFIED an official document. He falsified the Notice of Application to File for a Place on the Ballot when he dated the expiration date as August 26th.  It does not matter whether or not he did so on purpose in the eyes of the law; just as it does not matter that a driver did not see the lowered speed limit sign.

Further, if he had just left the date as August 26^th, nothing would have happened.  The ballot would still have been produced and all interested candidates would have been included if they filed by that date.  Nothing would have been compromised. The election would still have occurred on November 8.

So, what is the rest of the story?  The addendum had to be completed in order to eliminate late filers as candidates. Agencies of Texas Government appealed to so far have said there is no recourse for the back dated addendum to be tossed out unless those affected sue the District. Similarly, the falsified original document has no recourse.  That by itself is a shame.

The District’s website still has the Internet Posting Requirements for Political Subdivisions on their website that contains the August 26^th Deadline to file Candidate Application. This is a Secretary of State required form.  The statement at the bottom of the form reads: Notice of meeting, and the adopted minutes of the meetings, of the Navigation and Canal Commission of the Aransas County Navigation District (ACND) are posted on the ACND website at acnd.org under the tab labeled About ACND Meeting/Meeting Dates and Times.  The only Minutes available at that tab are of the immediate prior meeting.  Nothing before that date is available on the District’s website including their Archives.

Another interesting tidbit appears on the website. The Minutes of the October 3 meeting contained the following, #12 Agenda: Effects of and possible actions regarding, City of Rockport storm water systems and discharges and construction, including but not limited to any related agreements proposed or existing with the City. Commissioner Dieckow reported that testing relating to pollutants had been conducted in Rockport Harbor.  Results received (sic) back found no indication of pollutants.  Dieckow went on to say that he was unhappy with the results.  In his opinion, the test did not go far enough in analyzing markers. Just as has happened many times before, the District rejects any study or analysis that does not provide them with the results they want. They paid $43k for this survey according to recent accounts payable.

So, what is the rest of the story?   Another friend recently told me about a conversation he once had with Chairman Dieckow. The Chairman confided in him that the District wants to control every drop of water that enters the waters that surround the Aransas peninsula with a permitting process. To that end, Chairman Dieckow said he intended to use Little Bay to make the other jurisdictions jump like puppets. Readers, according to Paul Harvey and me, that is the rest of the story.
